## Notes
### Thoughts
Last day with the Avid S6L at Princeton Pike. I love this desk. Workflows are intentional and intuitive. Going to miss the snapshots! Intuitive, easy to use and set up. Flexibility on what items are captured with the snapshot. Also will miss the layouts! Love that so much!

### Mix Notes
M5000 reverb unit had no outputs... rebooted the M5000 and it worked.
Dialed gain back to attempt more unity gain and cleaner outs...

Good afternoon... When I woke up this morning... I realized I have been mixing here (Princeton Pike) for a little over 3 years... next time I mix here... it will be on a different desk... they are replacing the Avid with Yamaha 😪... and while I am not a fan of Yamaha desks (personal preference).. I am aware of the benefits that will come from this update! I also know the change isn't just for fun... that would be ludicrous... there were several catalysts for the decision!
Benefits
One huge benefit... probably the biggest benefit... Dante (a network protocol for audio).
Avid currently does not support Dante ( very limited... enhanced version promised for a long time... but not available yet).
Also... I believe the stage box will contain Neve Preamps... I have heard it said that these Silk Preamps are killer!
The stage will reap additional Klang (stage monitoring) benefits.
ALSO... gaining a Waves Server for plugins and processing... That will certainly give us more tools and toys to incorporate into a mix.
I will miss the Avid S6L desk and its workflows... the intuitive layout, user interface and user experience... snapshots are flexible and comprehensive! It has a great sound!
I imagine (hope) Yamaha's newer consoles have addressed some of the things I hate most on their desks... user interface and workflows...
I know it was not an easy decision... and I was asked about how I felt about it, prior to the decision... after processing it for a couple of days... I understand it and while I tease Eric about it... I look forward to working with the new tools! He had to make some crucial decisions to resolve some pending issues and to better the environment at the church. The benefits far out weigh my preferences on the mix desk. The desk is just a tool!
I am extremely grateful that I get to play on these toys most weeks... most churches don't have budgets for these types of tools... or they just skimp on audio and video production tools, viewing them as less important... as they don't usually understand the benefit of having great tools and people working with the tools.
I call myself blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to mix audio for livestream and broadcast... and an occasional FOH session...😁
As I get older... it is always great to be able to keep following my passions and learning some new skills... as well as feeling like my skills and passions are still important.
Thank you Eric for your trust, leadership and friendship! I really appreciate you!
Brad... I always appreciate your skills, knowledge and friendship as well! Your skills are incredible! We have a lot in common and I find we have similar skills at disruption and troublemaking! 🤣🤣🤣
We will converge and configure the new setup and get it ready for top shelf audio! Looking forward to our collaboration and learning some things from you!
